The BTC area has a rich cultural heritage. Artists from this area specially the Bodo cultural groups have times without numbers represented Cultural Troups in the Rapublic Day Celebration in New Delhi. In view of this rich culture of the people of this area BTC has introduced a Cultural Award namely “Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award” to be presented to the outstanding contributor to the development and enrichment of this cultures. The amount carry Rs. 1·00 lakh with a citation and the “Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award, 2006” has been given to Shri Sisir Kumar Suni.

BTC authority has also made financial grants-in-aids to 20 nos of veteran and ailing artists, more than 125 nos of cultural organisations, societies, NGOs and more than 50 nos of artists those who have extended valuable contribution in the field of culture. BTC has made financial sanction for construction of cultural office and cultural Open Stage in the newly created District Head Quarters and Sub-Divisional Head Quarters.
