The Department of Information & Public
Relations as we all know is the mouth piece
of the Council authority. The efforts of
the Govt. has to be communicated to the
entire people of the country including that
of rural backwards for active participation
in the development works. Moreover, Information
& Public Relations department has to
create confidence among the public regarding
various efforts taken up by the Council
for the welfare of the people.
Due to creation of new administration boundary
of BTC area by creating four districts establishment
of new sub-divisional and district officers
has to be created. During the year 2004-05
an amount of Rs. 15·00 lakhs only
was earmarked which has been fully utilised.
In the year 2005-06, the BTC has earmarked
Rs. 66·50 lakhs from the State Plan
Fund.
The Department of Information & Public
Relations, Bodolanf Territorial Council,
through different electronic and print media,
has been highlighting the welfare programmes
of BTC for public interest.
Time to time, media teams are being taken
to the sites of development schemes for
on the spot reporting so that the people
are kept abreast of the reality.
In addition to the publicity of development
works, this department has to play an important
role on creating peaceful environment among
the different communities in general and
the younger generation in particular to
shun away from the secessionist tenedency
in BTC area.
Eight numbers of patriotic and devotional
songs in Bodo language have been produced
by organising a seminar cum workshop at
Kokrajhar. A Teletip containing important
telephone numbers of BTC has been published
for public interest.
Direction and Administration : For
smooth functioning and efficient discharge
of public relation duty, the Public Relation
department has purchased vehicles, computer
set and 11 numbers fax machines and some
infrastructure for newly set up district/sub-divisional
offices under plan fund of 2005-06.
Advertisement and Audio-Visual Publicity
: In order to utilise powerful tools
like electronic media which is technically
most advantageous an DV 3CCD camera and
a digital still camera and accessories and
some equipments has been procured during
the year 2005-06.
Field Publicity : The Public Relation
department has been involved in field publicity
activities like observance of important
days, campaign, festivals, holding international
programme etc. It is also decided to procure
to provide minimum PA systems for new districts/sub-divisions
of BTC area during the year 2005-06.
Production of Film : In order to
produce a promotional film, an amount of
Rs. 3·20 lakhs has been utilised
for the year 2005-06.
In view of this, the Public Relations department
have been contemplating for strengthening
this department modern equipment such as
LCD, Projector etc.
