BTC Areas that comprises four districts
is the homeland of the Bodocacharies and
also the other tribes with colourful culture.
It is something like a treasure house of
rich culture and tradition, which are basically
needed for prevention and study. So, in
order to preserve exposition research and
study of the cultural objects, historical
relics yet to be exposed and unsung archaeology
evidence for which the Directorate of Museums
has already established District Museum
Office at Kokrajahr. So, construction of
District Museum Office as permanent setup
is most urgent. Therefore, construction
of the new building has been started with
earmarked fund for building construction
with Rs. 12,00 Lakhs during the year 2005-06
from the BTC plan fund. The scheme is continuing
to the next few financial years till the
construction over.
The most essential and prime purpose of
the museum is to collect cultural heritage
objects of musicological interest also for
comprehensive and intensive study of the
past and to display the objects for public
service. The District Museum Office started
objects collection drive for which BTC sanctioned
financial help.
For the development of Museum Gallery
BTC authority sanctioned financial aids
and started gallery development works for
public service in this financial year.
From the archaeology point of view, the
preservation of the Dewal-Khanda Prachin
Kirti Sinha Sangrakhan Khetra and its protection
with boundary wall is essential and also
some renovation works done with the help
of BTC fund from this financial year.
To protect the archaeology monuments at
Ilachijhar in the interest of public service
for which the BTC authority has sanctioned
financial grants.
Another notable work for the better development
of museum and archaeology in the BTC areas
there must be needed some study tour for
which BTC authority sanctioned some amount
in this financial year.
However, the allocation of fund under
plan had been very meagre, only 21.00 Lakhs,
yet this department is putting its best
efforts to give full service to the public
with its limited fund position.
