PRINTING & STATIONERY DEPARTMENT
 

The Printing and Stationary Department, although not concerned with the development activities, its importance is not less than any other department transferred to BTC. It has been set to function right from the beginning of the BTC along with other departments. The Primary objective of the department is to cater the needs of all the departments transferred to BTC with schedule Forms and Stationary articles – the requirements without which the Govt. offices cannot run the office works smoothly.

During the current financial year, the department had been allotted Rs. 190.00 lakh from the BTC plan fund. For smooth implementation of schemes the following activities have been undertaken in the interest of public service.

Initially with the commencement of its function from the date of inception, the department had to depend on the help of the local registered Printing Presses. Every kind of Scheduled forms in particular used by the departments and common for all departments were printed in the local printing presses at the approved rate.

Now, the department with the initiation and under the able leadership of i/c Executive Member of Printing and Stationary department, quality printing machines both big and small size with all accessories have been acquired at the estimated cost of amount Rs. 40·00 lakh from the reputed company. This measure has been taken with a view to avoid wanton expenditure for printing in the private firm and reserve the secrecy in confidential matters. The installation and commissioning of the Printing Press of its own is likely to be within August/2006.
