WORK DEPARTMENT

Public Work Department is one
of the major entrusted subject of BTC. This
department mainly deals with construction/improvement
work of roads, bridges and building works
within the entire BTC area. This department
is executing huge volume of works both in
roads and building sector for overall development
of BTC area, funded by the ministry of DONER
Govt. of India under NLCPR Projects as well
as annual plan scheme. This department was
allocated around Rs. 1748·00 lakhs
and almost all the schemes within the allocated
amount is completed. Number of major RCC bridges
and improvement of roads are also being taken
under NLCPR Projects.
Some of the executed works under BTC for
the following districts are below :
1. BAKSA : i)
Improvement of Kadamtali-Bhutankhuti Road
(Namati-Mushalpur Road) heavy sand gravelling
and construction of RCC hume pipe culvert
N.P.-3 1000 dia repairs for the ABSU conference
at Mushalpur. Estimated amount=Rs. 40·00
lakhs. Lenght=24 km. Provision : a) Sand gravelling;
b) HP culvert.
ii)
Re-construction of SPT Br., No. 3/1 on Katajhar
Gharamara Road. Estimated amount= Rs. 7·84
lakhs. SPT Bridge Length=48·70 m.

2. UDALGURI : i) Improvement

Plan of BTC for 2005-06. (Earth work and boulder
protection work at 3rd km including earth
work and gravelling from 4th to 12th km. Estimated
amount=Rs. 25·00 lakhs. Length=7 km.
Provision : a) Earth work in embkt. and sub-grade,
b) Protection work.
ii)
Improvement of Khairabari-Mowgaon via Mahilapara
Road in T/R/S under Udalguri Rural Road Division.
(Reconstruction of SPT Br. No. 1/1, 2/1 &
4/1 including approaches. Estimated amount=Rs.
25·00 lakhs. Length=9 km. Provision
: a) Repairing of SPT Br. No. 1/1. b) Reconstruction
of SPT Br. No. 2/1. c) New construction of
SPT Br. 4/1.
