The PHE Department under BTC is headed
by Director, Council Head of Department
(CHD) and followed by Division and Sub-division
office.

Achievement at a glance:
(A) Rural Water Supply
Since inception of BTC, the Public Health
Engineering Department has emphasized to
provide safe drinking water at different
water scarce areas namely northern part
of BTC, foothills areas of Bhutan and Arunachal
Pradesh. The PHE department has successfully
implemented various water supply schemes
under the bold guidance of Hon'ble Executive
Member, Mr. Derhasat Basumatary, PHE and
BTC authority as well.
It needs to be mentioned that in those areas
where drinking water supply was a dream
for the villagers, the department has successfully
implemented spot sources schemes of 97 nos.
of Mark- III HP through sophisticated Rig
machines and resulting the dream in reality.
Approximately 23,000 people have been benefitted
with this great endeavour.
The problematic and water stressed areas
are namely Thakamthukum, Thakampur etc.
under Gossaigaon PHE Division and Saralpara,
Ultapani, Khalasi, Ouguri, etc. under Kokrajhar
PHE Division No.-I, Hatisar (Dadgiri), Khungring,
Nangalbhanga, Koilamoila, Bishnupur and
Patabari Malivita etc. under Chirang district
and Nikashi, Subankhata, Bogajuli, Darangamela
etc. under Baksa District of Kokrajhar (PHE)
Division-II Orangajuli, Badlapara, Chamrangbazar,
Saotalpara, Sonapur etc. under Tangla PHE
Division.
